Villa Amalia offers comfortable accommodations at high standards and is the perfect choice for a restful and unforgettable vacation in an authentic, ancient Positano home. The interiors are spacious and have been elegantly and tastefully furnished throughout, with valuable antiques and unique objects of art. The entrance leads onto a delightful solarium terrace, located on one side of the house. Due to its panoramic position, it enjoys magical views of the sea and the coastline, looking out over the mountain slopes and houses built along the rocky cliffs. The terrace has with deck chairs, built-in seating and an umbrella. There is a pretty, cane-covered pergola with a marble table for 12 located on a slightly raised level. The terrace leads to either the first floor of the house or to a lovely courtyard covered by a vine pergola with a marble table accommodating 12, down approximately 17 steps. Tall cypress trees surround the courtyard in front of the villa. Ground floor: The entrance takes you into a lounge area. The spacious living room is beautifully furnished with comfortable sofas, armchairs, an antique chest with a marble top, colourful rugs, and a fireplace. A set of French windows leads out onto a courtyard. The dining room has a window, which looks out on the courtyard, an antique and solid wooden glass case, a sideboard and a dining table. The fully equipped kitchen has a 4-range stovetop, 2 sinks, 2 small refrigerators, a freezer, an electric oven, a kettle, toaster, blender, and washing machine. A set of doors leads to the courtyard where an outdoor dining area is set up. The ground floor also has a ½ bathroom. First floor: 21 steps lead from the lounge up to the first floor, which consists of the sleeping area. The master bedroom with balcony has a solid wood table, 2 antique chests, and built-in closet and enjoys a spacious, en-suite bathroom with bathtub. The twin bedroom with a window has wooden, gondola-style beds and an antique chest. The spacious single bedroom has a wrought iron bed, a window with views, an antique chest, a built-in closet, and doors leading out onto the main terrace. The double bedroom with window overlooks the main terrace and is furnished with a built-in closet and ceiling fan. There is a separate bathroom with wall shower. Dependence: The courtyard provides access to the dependence, with its two, spacious studios, called Loretta and Carolina,, each approx. 350 square feet. Each studio enjoys an independent, private access and all lead out onto the well-maintained garden. Additional accommodations are provided in the two adjoining studios. The owner occasionally uses the remaining 2 studios that have their own, independent entrances and in no way interfere with guests’ privacy. The 2 studios available to our guests are furnished in extremely good taste and with great care. Each studio has a double bed, en-suite bathroom with wall shower, cooking facilities, bug screens, a dining room table, ceiling fan, TV, central heating, small refrigerator, and an outside seating area with a dining table located under the scented lemon trees.

Location

This beautiful house is set in very secluded surroundings, filled with Mediterranean vegetation and enjoying the peace, quiet, and breathtaking views out over Positano, the coastline, and the sea. Villa Amalia lies in a beautiful setting just 3 kilometres from the lively center of Positano. You must climb up a stairway of 174 steps, along a path, leading trough the woods, from the main street, which runs along the coastline. Walking up the steps and through the iron gate leads you to this true corner of paradise. A communal staircase of approximately 220 steps leads from the road level down to the public beach of Arienzo, where there is a restaurant, as well as umbrellas and lounge chairs for rent and private boats on the main beach of Positano.
