Villa Anisa

Villa Anisa is a beautiful private country home set in a panoramic position in the hills above Positano, offering stunning views of the Gulf of Sorrento, about 15 minutes from the town centre. Positano, located on the southern coast of the Peninsula, is a perfect spot from which to visit the neighbouring Amalfi Coast towns such as Amalfi, Ravello and Praiano. In addition, its location, just 30 minutes away from Sorrento, brings Naples, Capri, Ischia, and Pompeii all within easy reach. This charming, old country house has been lovingly and carefully furnished with antiques, prints, watercolours, and ceramic artworks preserving the important traditions of the Campania region. The style of the house, carved out of the hillside of volcanic rock (tufo), together with the fresh colours of blue, white, and yellow, which run throughout from the fabrics to the wall coverings to the doors to the coloured tile floors, combine to create an extraordinary seaside home, truly representative of its region. With private gardens and terraces planted with palm trees, bougainvillea, and other flowering plants, Villa Anisa is a perfect place to find peace and relaxation. Ground Floor: Entry into the spacious dining room, seating for 10-12 with a 3-cushion sofa, situated in an alcove under the stairway leading up to the bedrooms. A set of doors open onto the outside terrace, which can also be accessed through the living room. The ground floor enjoys a cozy living room with two comfortable couches, one seating three and the other two, 2 side chairs and a reclining chaise lounge and working fireplace. Double doors open directly to the trellis-covered terrace where one finds numerous lounge chairs and spacious areas to relax. The spacious, fully equipped eat-in kitchen enjoys a refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher and washing machine, while a glass paned door gives access to the outdoor pergola patio, which has two marble top tables seating a total of 16. The master bedroom is located off of the living room and boasts a double bed with handcrafted headboard, armoire, side chairs, night stand, and an en-suite bathroom with bathtub. There is also a guest bathroom (1/2 bath). First Floor: A double bedroom in brilliant yellow with a picture window revealing stunning views of the Li Galli islands. A reclining chaise lounge from which to enjoy the view is at the foot of the bed. Charming bathroom with shower, lace curtains, and antique ceramic washbasin. Double doors open out onto a terrace with lounge chairs. There is also a single bedroom with bathroom situated next to this double, but we consider this an ‘extra’, as the single lies at the entrance of the other bedroom found on this floor, and doesn’t provide 100% privacy. Second Floor: An external staircase from the terrace leads to the second floor, which has two double bedrooms, each with twin beds and an en-suite bathroom with shower. Cottage: An independent cottage/guest house is located in the garden, about 60 meters away from the main house. It is delicately furnished in the style from the 40’s with a sitting room with sofa (which can become a single bed) and picture window.
