Villa Delcie

Villa Delcie is an old tower dating back to the 12th Century. It was elegantly and beautifully renovated by two important Neapolitan architects in a style following both its original décor and local traditions. The villa, set in the middle of a splendid olive grove, is divided on three floors. Access to the property is through an independent gate providing maximum privacy. The exterior of the tower is built with rough, natural stone, allowing it to blend into the colours of the surrounding nature. The interior of the Torre is furnished in a very tasteful country style and designed with warm colours fitting perfectly with the original structure of the villa and its surroundings. The floor preserves its original antique terracotta tiles. Living rooms, lounges, and bedrooms are furnished and adorned with antique wooden furniture from throughout Europe, colourful oriental carpets, paintings, iron and silver décor completing its style. Ground Level: The kitchen is set entirely in a rustic style. The well-equipped kitchen has a 4-range stovetop, oven, microwave, and refrigerator/freezer. A French glass door leads onto the outdoor dining area. The lounge is divided into two wonderful living areas. The dining area has a large antique wooden table with 8 leather chairs. French doors lead out onto the outdoor patio. An intimate, cosy lounge is furnished with three comfortable sofas, a wooden table, and stone fireplace. The living room boasts a TV, DVD, and VCR, for an ideal corner of relaxation. French glass doors lead out into the parking area. The sleeping area situated on the main floor is found in a separate wing across from the living room. A studio, furnished with a wooden desk and chair, sofa with glass topped wooden table, and other antique furniture, serves as the passage between the bedrooms and first floor living room. A small window and glass doors opening onto the back of the house provides the atmosphere with plenty of natural light. Small double room with twin beds, large dresser, and window. ½ bath. Double bedroom with high ceilings with an iron baldachin double bed, wardrobe, bedside tables, and chair. Full bathroom with terracotta tiles and shower. First floor: A flight of 18 steps leads from the ground level up to the first floor into a hall furnished with a chest and other antique wooden furniture and direct access onto the spacious terrace (320 sq. feet) paved with terracotta tiles and planted with large flower pottery. The view from the terrace extends out towards the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvious, to one side, and onto the green slopes of Monte Faito, on the other. On the opposite wing of the second floor of the Villa, approximately 15 steps will lead you either down to the garden or up to the third floor. The first floor boasts a spacious and stylish master bedroom with high vaulted ceilings furnished with a wrought iron bed, antique wooden furniture, wardrobe with mirror, small dresser, and a beautiful hand painted wooden bench. Window and French doors leads onto an unfurnished terrace. Large en-suite bathroom with a semicircle bathtub with French windows. Second & Tower floors: The opposite side of the first floor takes you up to a second studio, furnished with a sofa (can be converted into a single bed), wooden desk, and library. A window and French doors lead out onto the balcony connecting to the garden. Small bathroom with shower. A final flight of stairs leads you from the studio up to a loft bedroom. The entrance to the loft is a small living room, with a large sofa and a small wooden desk with chair. Two windows overlook the pool area. Small bathroom with shower. French doors lead out onto the stairs that go down to the garden area. There are two staircases leading up from the loft living room. The first takes you up 12 steps up a spiral staircase lead to the loft bedroom. It has low ceilings and may be preferable for children. The room has a double bed with bedside tables, a small close rack, and a small wooden bench. The second staircase goes up 10 steps to the roof terrace and top of the tower. Annex: An annex, accessible from the outside patio & dining area, has a spacious bedroom with double bed and large panoramic window, furnished in the same style and quality as the rest of the house. En-suite bathroom with shower. Small, un-stocked wine cellar lies in the adjacent room. Garden and pool: The garden in front of the property is made up by grass and olive grounds. The ground has parking space for up to 4 cars. Outdoor lounge area partly covered with bamboo and furnished with comfortable chaise lounge chairs and armchairs around a low wooden table. A built-in stone bench with cushions makes up more comfortable seating for both day and night. The outside dining area is furnished with two large marble tables and built-in benches. A small stone path leads through the garden down to the wonderful pool (5 mt x 10 mt). The pool, surrounded by olive trees and Indian figs, is ideally set on a paved terrace viewing the gentle green slopes of the coast. The area is furnished with 4 wooden, chaise lounge chairs, creating a pleasurable area for relaxing, sunbathing, and listening to the silence of nature.
